Property filings now to be done online

Correction: An earlier version of this article gave an incorrect phone number for the county Assessor's Office.

San Luis Obispo County Assessor Tom Bordonaro has launched an electronic system for businesses with less than $400,000 in business personal property accounts to file their Business Personal Property Statement (571-L).

Businesses are being asked to use the new, streamlined system by April 1.

Business owners will receive instructions in the mail about how to file online instead of the usual, four-page form.

Larger businesses may also file electronically. For details, visit www.calbpsfile.org or call 781-5643.
