Cambria’s Citizens of the Year for 2011 are super volunteers Terry and Jerri Farrell.
The couple’s contributions to the community include Jerri Farrell heading up the Friends of the Cambria Library since 2004, Terry Farrell’s efforts for American Legion Post No. 432, and organizing the Marine Corps and Cambria’s Anonymous Neighbors Toys for Tots drive.
They also coordinated efforts to enhance the flagstand at the Veterans Memorial Building, support active-duty troops with packages and year-round remembrances, participate in the Community Emergency Rescue Team, and brought the Marine Corps band to the Pinedorado parade.
As one nominator wrote of the couple, “They support about everything in town that starts with 503C,” referring to one of the sections of tax law that makes nonprofit groups tax exempt.
