Cowboy gala to be held at Madonna Inn

The California Farm Bureau Federation has created the California Bountiful Foundation, and its inaugural gala will be held at San Luis Obispo’s Madonna Inn on Sept. 30.

National rodeo icon and Cal Poly graduate Cotton Rosser will be honored, cowboy humorist Baxter Black will entertain, and Cal Poly President Jeff Armstrong will speak at the gala.

Proceeds benefit agricultural research, education and public outreach.

Rosser, who produces the California Mid-State Fair rodeo and others across California, will receive the inaugural California Bountiful Foundation Public Outreach Award for his lifetime of dedication and support of the farming and ranching community. Founder of the Flying U Rodeo Company based in Marysville, Rosser is a member of the national Rodeo Hall of Fame and National Cowboy Hall of Fame.

The California Farm Bureau Federation works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of approximately 76,500 members statewide, according to a recent news release.

Few tickets, $125 each, remain at 916-961-3891 or www.cfbf.com/bountifulgala.
