The San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation has earned renewed accreditation from The Community Foundations National Standards Board, a national accreditation organization based in Arlington, Va.
The accreditation, designed to provide quality assurance to donors and their legal and financial advisers, shows that the foundation has met high philanthropic standards for operational quality and accountability.
There are 29 standards-compliant community foundations in California, according to the National Standards Board’s website.
The foundation initially earned this designation five years ago.
In its 13 years, the foundation has granted more than $16 million to the community through its 200 funds and scholarships.
