A business that pairs skin-care treatments with wine is set to open Tuesday in downtown Atascadero.
Vino Therapy Studio will offer appetizers, wine and spa treatments in 600 square feet at 5990 Entrada Ave.
Partners Nena Benson and Tina Wysong plan to hire six employees. The space has undergone renovations in the last two months with new paint, cabinetry, flooring and fixtures. The building, owned by Tina and Larry Wysong, housed a jewelry shop until last year. Tina Wysong also owns Bella Cose clothing boutique downtown. Benson is a 2003 graduate of Templeton High School and a licensed skin-care specialist.
“I have been working on this concept for a couple of years,” Benson said of the $30,000 endeavor.
The shop features a wine-tasting bar to showcase a local winery each month. Along with the wine, light appetizers and teas will be sold at the spa’s bar.
The menu features local apples and cheeses and toasted pecans drizzled with agave syrup.
The skin-care division features treatments made with certified organic ingredients and grape seeds, an antioxidant-rich byproduct of winemaking, Benson said. There will be two treatment rooms and a designated area for a natural hot rock pedicure and wine foot soaks. The partners plan to use a private label in Santa Barbara to collect the wine byproducts, Benson said.
A grand opening party for the public is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. March 4.
