Biz Buzz: Eco-friendly children’s store opens in SLO

Children’s store EcoBambino recently opened at 863 Monterey St. in downtown San Luis Obispo. EcoBambino features babies and children’s products that are free of BPA, phthalates, lead and PVC.

The store is owned by sister-in-laws Ariana Spaulding and Amanda Spaulding, both of San Luis Obispo. Ariana Spaulding got the idea for the store when she was looking for natural products for her son, and resorted to “shopping online for things I’d preferred to have purchased locally.”

The women plan to host informative sessions for parents about topics such as baby carriers, cloth diapering, breastfeeding and green living.

The newly renovated and redecorated 2,500-square-foot store was designed in part by local graphic designer Pierre Rademaker; its products can also be found on the EcoBambino e-commerce website.
