Suzanne Leedale, 35, moved to San Luis Obispo two years ago from Chico to become chief executive officer of SLO Credit Union. “I found a really strong culture of generosity here that was very appealing,” says Leedale, originally from Ohio. With a degree in business administration from Wayland Baptist University in Alaska and a diploma from the Credit Union National Association Management School, she’s overseen a renovation and increased lending and membership. She volunteers at Bishop’s Peak School (where her 12-year-old son Dante Nelson studies), for Habitat for Humanity, the Adopt-a-College Student program and Get on the Bus, which connects children with parents in prison.
