Bianca E. Koenig, 29, came to Cal Poly from Southern California on a pole vaulting scholarship. After graduation, the landscape architect joined Wallace Group in 2003. Accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council, Koenig serves on the board of the California Central Coast chapter to advocate sustainable design. Her biggest rewards come from small projects, she says. “It’s like magic… to see a client find both joy and utility in an outdoor space that was once unused and neglected.” Koenig became a founding member of the Deanna Maran Foundation for Non-Violence after her sister’s death in 2001. She and husband, Joe, live in Cayucos and expect their first child in July.
