Judson Clark, 38, became head coach of Puma Aquatic Team in 2000 when it had 18 swimmers. Owner since 2006, he’s expanded the club to 300 swimmers and 20 coaches at four county locations. “My job is to provide an environment where athletes can define and achieve their own goals,” Clark says. The team has donated more than $21,000 to the Hearst Cancer Resource Center at French Hospital Medical Center. With a degree in English and education from the University of Redlands, Clark is finishing a master’s degree in kinesiology at Cal Poly. He and wife, Nara, moved to San Luis Obispo from Colorado in 1996. He’s father to Amberly, 8, and sons Toby, 5, and infant Kelton.
