Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo has hired Matthew Richardson as chief financial officer. He will begin work Sept. 29.
Richardson will be moving from Dignity Health, where he served for the past 13 years as controller/director of financial development for that hospital system’s Central Coast Service Area. In that role he oversaw financial operations for French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital. Richardson previously worked as a financial analyst and assistant to the chief financial officer/chief operating officer at Marin Individual Practice Association in Sonoma County.
Richardson earned a bachelor of science in business administration from Sonoma State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.
In announcing Richardson’s appointment, Sierra Vista chief executive officer Joe DeSchryver said, “Matt Richardson has all of the qualities Sierra Vista seeks in a senior leader. Not only does Matt have strong financial, organizational and leadership skills, he also has a personal value set that will be conducive to his success at our hospital.”
