A family-owned pizzeria has returned to Los Osos after opening in Baywood Park 39 years ago.
Nardonne’s La Famiglia Pizzeria’s grand opening is Saturday.
Nardonne’s Pizzeria, owned by the Dougherty family, opened in 1976 and was in business for 28 years in Los Osos before the family relocated the restaurant to Santa Barbara.
After five years operating the pizzeria in Santa Barbara, the family decided to return to Los Osos, where they were welcomed back by the locals.

“The response has been overwhelming. We get told at least 20 to 30 times a day how great it is that we’re back in the area,” said co-owner Ben Dougherty. “We owe our success to the locals.”
The restaurant features handmade pizzas, calzones, sandwiches and salads. The new 1,600-square-foot location at 715 Santa Maria Ave. in Los Osos is one street away from its original location.
There is a Nardonne’s Pizzeria franchise in Atascadero that has been in business for 34 years by different owners.
