Atascadero at Arroyo Grande
The third quarter started slowly for the Eagles and the Greyhounds, but started to speed up with Michael Jordano’s 26-yard touchdown run for Arroyo Grande High's football team as it took a 27-13 lead.
Atascadero answered with a 4-yard touchdown run from Isaiah Cooks to pull within 27-20 entering the fourth quarter.
Arroyo Grande High's football team outscored Atascadero 10-6 in the second quarter to expand its lead to 20-13 at halftime in tonight's PAC 7 football game.
The Eagles turned the game around in the second, responding to a 39-yard touchdown run from the Greyhounds’ Isaiah Cooks with a 46-yard touchdown pass from Matt Willkomm to Tyler Auerbach. They continued their momentum with a 25-yard field goal by Cole Ramey to make it 20-13 at halftime after the Greyhounds had taken a 13-10 lead on Cooks' touchdown run.
Defending PAC 7 champion Arroyo Grande scored the first 10 points of tonight's football game against Atascadero, but the Greyhounds got a 47-yard touchdown run from Jonathan Torres to pull Atascadero (3-2, 1-0) within 10-7 after the first quarter.
The Eagles (3-1, 0-0) got a Cole Ramey field goal to take an early 3-0 lead, and then converted an interception into a 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Jordano for the early 10-0 lead.
San Luis Obispo at Paso Robles
Paso Robles got on the scoreboard with a 49-yard touchdown reception from Jaylon Davis and a completed two-point conversion in the third quarter. The Bearcats’ first score was answered by another touchwon pass from San Luis Obispo’ sGarrett Giovannelli to Thomas Orradre for a 43-yard touchdown to make it 31-8 in favor of the Tigers at the end of the third quarter.
Led by Nick Hill’s two interceptions, the Tigers’ defense let nothing through in the second quarter, ending both of the Bearcats’ first two possessions in three plays and stopping two potential scoring drives.
San Luis Obispo capitalized on its offensive opportunities, with Nate Greenelsh’s 58-yard touchdown run and Thomas Orradre’s 7-yard touchdown reception from Garrett Giovannelli making the score 24-0 Tigers at halftime.
San Luis Obispo has taken a 10-0 lead over Paso Robles after one quarter on a 25-yard Nate Greenelsh touchdown run and a 36-yard field goal by Liam Stewart.
The Tigers (2-3, 0-1) are looking to bounce back from last week's 35-30 loss at St. Joseph. Paso Robles (3-1, 1-0) has won three straight games since a season-opening loss to Bullard of Fresno.
Morro Bay at Nipomo
Morro Bay expanded its 14-3 halftime lead with Derek Viles scoring a 10-yard touchdown on Morro Bay’s sixth straight run of the quarter.
The Titans answered with Luke Shurtleff’s 19-yd touchdown pass to Quintin Bland, but the Pirates answered with a pair of touchdown runs for a 35-10 lead entering the fourth quarter.
After a scoreless first quarter, Zach Smith’s 50-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Dan Beavers put Morro Bay ahead 7-0.
The Titans managed a 38-yard field goal before Morro Bay’s Derek Viles ran for a 6-yard touchdown to give the Pirates a 14-3 halftime lead.
