The Atascadero High football team leads Morro Bay 35-6 after three quarters of their nonleague football game tonight after neither team scored in the third quarter.
HALFTIME: Atascadero has taken a 35-6 lead into halftime in its nonleague game against Morro Bay tonight.
Leading 21-0 at the start of the second quarter, Jonathan Torres helped extend the lead to 28-0 with a 4-yard touchdown run, his second of the night.
Robbie Berwick threw a touchdown pass with 7:03 left in the second to make it 35-0.
Derek Viles scored on a touchdown run with 2:17 left, putting the Pirates on the board at 35-6.
FIRST QUARTER: The Atasacadero High football team has taken a 21-0 lead after the first quarter in its game against Morro Bay tonight.
Jonathan Torres scored on a 7-yard run on the Greyhounds (0-1) opening drive of the contest.
Michael Miller then stripped Pirates quarterback Jordan Bray of the ball and returned it for a touchdown on the following possession.
Later in the quarter, Morro Bay running back Derek Viles was stripped of the ball and fumbled, leading to a 34-yard return for a touchdown by Atascadero, putting the Greyhounds on top 21-0.
Atascadero has now extended the lead to 35-0 in the second quarter.
ARROYO GRANDE 50, NIPOMO 0
The Eagles increased their 41-0 halftime lead as Jonny Kubel scored on a 1-yard touchdown run, and Cole Ramey connected on a 33-yard field goal for the Eagles.
The Eagles are having no problem bouncing back from last week's loss to Lompoc with a 41-0 lead.
The Eagles, who led 27-0 after the first quarter, continued to roll behind two more rushing touchdowns, the first from Mikey Gutierrez and the next from Sean St. Dennis, the fifth rushing touchdown of the game for Arroyo Grande.
Nipomo has three first half turnovers.
