The California Highway Patrol and the Pismo Beach Police Department has announced it is conducting a sobriety checkpoint tonight near downtown Pismo Beach.
Officers will be screening cars along southbound Highway 1 — which is also Dolliver Street — south of Frady Lane, according to a CHP press release. The location is just south of the 7 Eleven store and in front of the Pismo Coast Village RV park.
The checkpoint is set to run from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
If traffic volume permits it, all vehicles will be stopped. If traffic becomes too heavy, vehicles “will be selected by a pre-set standard to assure objectivity,” according to a press release.
