Locals will promote alternatives to using fossil fuels on Saturday in Atascadero and San Luis Obispo, and in other cities worldwide, to promote a climate change awareness campaign called Moving Planet.
Both events encourage those interested to bring signs and wear costumes.
The North County Moving Planet Rally will feature bicyclists, skateboarders, equestrians, pedestrians, runners and all other users of alternative transportation in a trek from Atascadero Lake Park to the Sunken Gardens.
The event begins with a 12:45 p.m. meet-up at the Veterans Memorial at Atascadero Lake Park off Morro Road. Participants will then head downtown to Sunken Gardens on El Camino Real at 1 p.m.
