Charles Bourbeau has been hired as the city of San Luis Obispo’s new director of finance and information technology.
Bourbeau has 28 years of experience working with the National Guard in such capacities as financial services, contracting, logistical support, information technology systems, data management and integration, and internal auditing. In his most recent position, Bourbeau was responsible for oversight of more than 200 employees and a budget of more than $2 billion.
Bourbeau will succeed Mary Bradley, who served as interim director for 14 months after the retirement of longtime director Bill Statler.
Bourbeau, who lives in Atascadero with his wife, Melissa, is a Cal Poly graduate and holds a master’s degree in government from Sacramento State University. He will start Nov. 7.
