Missing Paso Robles woman found safe in Templeton

A Paso Robles woman who was reported missing Tuesday afternoon was found safe in Templeton on Wednesday morning.

The 50-year-old woman reportedly took a handful of prescription medication before taking off from the 3100 block of Theatre Drive at 5 p.m., according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department.

A CHP helicopter joined search and rescue crews and sheriff's deputies in the search for the woman. The search was called off at 3 a.m., with fresh teams scheduled to begin looking again at 8 a.m.

However, the woman was found wandering down the 300 block of Main Street in Templeton at 7:30 a.m., according to officials.

The woman was turned over to mental health personnel for further evaluation.
