Former Cal Poly pitcher to make major league start

Former Cal Poly pitcher Garrett Olson is expected to make his first major league start this afternoon.Olson will take the mound for the Baltimore Orioles in their 4:05 p.m. game against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.Olson was a three-year starter for the Mustangs from 2003-05 and becomes the 10th player in Cal Poly history to be called up to the major leagues.The only other former Mustang currently on a major league roster is pitcher Kevin Correia with the San Francisco Giants.For more on how Olson did in his major league debut, return to later today and check out Thursday's edition of The Tribune.
