Morro Bay chamber short $10,000 for this year's fireworks show

July 02, 2007 08:41 AM

Officials at the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce said they’d like to raise thousands of dollars before or after this year’s Fourth of July celebrations in order the break even on costs associated with the event.

Chamber employees said they’re $10,000 shy of their $24,000 goal to pay for the free event.

Independence Day celebrations will go on even if the money isn’t raised, but Chamber officials said they’re trying to reverse the trend of having to spend a lot of their own money like they have done in recent years.
