It will be at least three months before a new business can open where Camozzi’s Saloon used to be in Cambria’s historic East Village.
Realtor Kellie Williams and her business partner, William A. Newman of Ann Arbor, Mich., have filed to use the name “Mozzi’s Saloon” for the historic bar at 2262 Main St. The business has been closed since a former owner left town in November.
Plans for Mozzi’s are at the county-planning level, according to Williams’ business associate Clay Akey. He estimated that any opening would be at least 90 to 120 days away.
“It all depends on the county and some good luck,” he said.

While the plan calls for the business to be part restaurant and part bar, Akey said, “Nothing’s finalized at this point.”
Another major East Village business, Linn’s restaurant, across the street from the old Camozzi’s building, is also closed. Renovation work continues in the wake of a fire in 2006; no reopening date has been announced. Linn’s has opened a smaller restaurant and gift shop nearby.
