Jesus “Chuy” Solorio of Paso Robles was cut during the elimination round Thursday night on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Solorio, 23, was among the 16 dancers who had made it to the weekly reality series’ third show.
In the second show, he performed a paso doble, a lively Spanish two-step, with hip-hop dancer Sara Von Gillern, 23. She survived the cuts on Thursday’s show, where the dancers were judged on solo routines.
Solorio danced to the 1980 hit “What I Like About You” by The Romantics.

Judge Nigel Lythgoe told Solorio that his dancing was outstanding throughout the season, but that he was eliminated from competition because of how well the other two male dancers performed.
