Eight candidates are expected to be interviewed today for the general manager position with the Oceano Community Services District.
A peer group made up of city managers and other local leaders are interviewing candidates today. On Friday, the services district’s board of directors will interview the same candidates.
The board will select one of the candidates for the position. Then interim general manager Arnie Dowdy will follow up with a background check before possibly confirming that person as the next g.m., he said.
Dowdy – the former Grover Beach city manager – has been serving in the position since March. He replaced Mitch Cooney who resigned as general manager in February.
