Expect "significant cooling" in San Luis Obispo County this weekend, weather forecasters say.
The weather patterns that brought 106-degree temperatures to Paso Robles on Thursday are expected to move toward the desert in the southwest, according to John Lindsey, meteorologist at Diablo Canyon Power Plant. That will allow the marine layer to deepen and cooler marine air will move farther inland.
The cooling-off is expected to continue this weekend, Lindsey said, as the marine layer deepens and onshore winds increase.
The high temperatures in Paso Robles are expected to be 97 today, 88 Saturday, 90 Sunday and 89 Monday.
