Nipomo youth football startup joins Central Coast league

The new Nipomo Titans youth football league officially has joined the Central Coast Youth Football League, according to league coordinators.

The new youth football league – which intends to have four teams in different age divisions – was accepted into the C.C.Y.F.L. last week. The league includes many other county teams, including San Luis Obispo and Atascadero.

The Titans’ league president Frank Mansera is still working out some of the logistical details regarding the formation of the Titans, including insurance. Mansera expects to have those details worked out by the season’s start in the fall.

Sign-ups for kids interested in joining the Titans are at the Nipomo Vons this Saturday and June 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address of that Vons is 520 W. Tefft St. Parents are asked to bring a copy of their children’s birth certificate and their current report card. For more information, call Jennifer McGee at 929-2536.

Sign-ups for the separate Nipomo Cowboys youth football league will be at the Nipomo Regional Park football field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and June 23. The address for that location is 255 Pomeroy Rd.

The Cowboys play in the Coastal Valleys Youth Football Conference against Santa Barbara and Ventura county teams. For more information about the Cowboys, call their league President Shawn Bland at 574-0161 or visit the league’s Web site at www.nipomocowboys.com.
