Health advisories lifted at Olde Port Beach near Avila

County environmental health officials report that they have lifted health advisories for high bacteria levels posted Wednesday at Olde Port Beach at Port San Luis.

Weekly testing Tuesday showed that ocean water at the beach exceeded state health levels. Warning signs were posted Wednesday and another sample was taken which was returned late Thursday showing safe bacteria levels.

Olde Port Beach is one of 20 beach locations monitored year-round by county health officials. High bacteria levels increase the risk of swimmers contracting infections.
