Three Cuesta College employees have earned employee of the year awards this year. They are Doug Pillsbury, Delfina Medina-Maloney and Janice House.
Pillsbury was named the Outstanding Academic Employee of the Year. He is a 20-year employee of the college – a tenured instructor in the English department and an English as a Second Language coordinator instrumental in cultivating the college’s ESL program.
Medina-Maloney – the Outstanding Classified Employee of the Year – was hired as a financial aid technician in 1995 before being promoted to financial aid specialist in 1998. She is a well-known representative of Cuesta in the Hispanic community and a former vice president of Cuesta’s Classified Employees organization.
House – the Outstanding Management Senate Employee of the Year -- is the director of computer services on campus. She has been vital in the implementation of Project Oz, a campus-wide software makeover. She has kept Cuesta’s technology on the forefront since she was hired 17 years ago.
