Grover Beach man arrested in connection with stabbing

A Grover Beach man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Thursday after allegedly stabbing his neighbor twice in the chest.

At 1 a.m., police called to 194 N. Fourth St. found 30-year-old Catherine R. Ellison with two stab wounds to the left side of her chest.

Scott Leroy Foulk Jr. 58, was seen running from the scene. After a brief foot chase, officers apprehended Foulk in the 200 block of North Fourth Street and arrested him.

Ellison was taken by ambulance to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, where she was treated and released several hours later.

Foulk and Ellison are neighbors in a residential housing complex, police said. A preliminary investigation found no motive for the attack.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact detectives Tim Miller or Juan Leon at 473-4511 or tmiller@gbpd.org and jleon@gbpd.org, or Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.
