AGHS principal leaving for elementary school

Arroyo Grande High School Principal Ryan Pinkerton is leaving his post in July to run an elementary school in Arroyo Grande.

The decision, made Tuesday night at a special meeting of the Lucia Mar School Board, was upon Pinkerton’s request, said Superintendent Deborah Flores.

Pinkerton will replace 10-year Principal Sharon Roemer at Ocean View Elementary in Arroyo Grande. Roemer was recently appointed a new job in the district office as assistant superintendent of instruction.

Pinkerton, at the young age of 33, became principal at Arroyo Grande High School in 2003. Prior to that he was assistant principal at Harloe Elementary School for two years and principal at Brach Elementary in Arroyo Grande for three years.
