Volunteers needed for Food Bank; critical shortage of drivers

There is a critical shortage of volunteer truck drivers at Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County.

Driving responsibilities may include food pickup and delivery in or outside the county. A special driver's license is not required.

Other volunteer options with the nonprofit are warehouse food sorting, large and small truck driving, truck loading and unloading. Volunteers will not be asked to perform activities they are uncomfortable with. Lifting up to 25 pounds is desirable but not necessary.

Those interested in contributing two hours or more, if possible, once or twice a month or more, call 238-4664.
