Public health expert Amy Gilman will assume new duties as legislative assistant to San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Jim Patterson, beginning today.
Gilman, a long-time North County resident and a graduate of Paso Robles High School, will succeed Ann McMahon, who has taken a job in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Gilman, a UC Berkeley graduate who has a Master’s of Public Health degree from Tulane University, has consulted for the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department, the Santa Barbara County Children’s Health Initiative, and the California Endowment.
Most recently, she coordinated the county Childhood Obesity Prevention Task Force. She is a member of the board of directors of the Food Bank Coalition and has served as a volunteer for the Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
