A doggone celebration Saturday in Morro Bay

Here’s a look at upcoming pet-related events around San Luis Obispo County:

DogFest 2015

A Dogs for Clean Water event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Morro Bay City Park.

Activities include a dog-themed quiz, demonstrations by agility-competition dogs and local police dogs, giveaways, dog show at noon with prizes and more.

All dogs must be on leashes and well behaved.

The event is hosted by the Morro Bay National Estuary Program.

Dog jog fundraiser

The Paso Robles Dog Jog on March 21 is a 4K/2K run or walk for dogs and their families along the Salinas River trail that starts at Kennedy Club Fitness in Paso Robles.

Pet contests start at 10 a.m. with prizes for best pooch smooch, most appropriate name, best smile, best dog owner look-alike and most unusual face.

Registration is $15 per dog until Thursday, $20 through race day; includes breakfast, goodie bag, dog bandana and medal.

Registration starts at 8 a.m., run starts at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefit Sherwood Dog Park. Register at Kennedy Club Paso Robles, 500 S. River Road or http://www.parks4pups.org.

Spay, neuter vouchers

The Feline Network has spay/neuter vouchers available for people who need financial help and reside in the city of San Luis Obispo, South County area or Los Osos and Morro Bay.

The vouchers are worth $60 toward a spay and $40 toward a neuter and can be redeemed at vet offices countywide.

Cat trappers needed

The Feline Network urgently needs volunteers to trap feral cats for spay/ neuter, especially as kitten season approaches.

Trappers are needed in the South County and San Luis Obispo. The Feline Network will provide traps and training.

A vehicle is necessary to transport cats to and from trapping sites and vet offices.
