Attend a pet fundraiser in SLO County

Here’s a look at upcoming pet-related events around San Luis Obispo County:

Dog park anniversary

El Chorro Dog Park will celebrate its 13th anniversary from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the dog park. Events include a “strut your pup” parade ($10 entry fee), hot dog barbecue, cake and more. The park is at El Chorro Regional Park off Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo. Donations benefit the dog park. For more information, visit http://www.elchorrodogpark.org.

El Chorro Dog Park needs volunteers to assist in park maintenance, participate in workdays and fun events, and to join the SLO-4-PUPS board. Wiggle Waggle Walk

Woods Humane Society hosts its Wiggle Waggle Walk for Woods beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 18 at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo. The event includes a costume contest, blessing of the animals, 1-mile walk and pet fair. Proceeds benefit Woods’ humane sheltering and veterinary care. Upcoming horse show

The Central Coast of California Arabian Horse Association will hold an Open All Breed Horse Show on Oct. 19 at Cypress Ridge Farms at 4950 Davenport Creek Road in San Luis Obispo. Pints For Pups

Pints For Pups is a “tricks and treats” themed craft brew party at Santa Margarita Ranch from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 23. The event includes beer, wine and cider tasting, food, a Halloween costume contest, music, dancing and silent auction. Proceeds benefit Woods Humane Society, Second Chance at Love and Shadow’s Fund.
