Beautiful Siamese cat Dylan is this week’s featured San Luis Obispo County Animal Services shelter pet. Shelter volunteer Ellen Perryess tells more about him:
Any Siamese cat lover will tell you, Siamese cats are not for everyone.
Generally, Siamese cats have dog-like personalities and will seek out human attention throughout the day. And though they might follow you around the house or play fetch, they — like other cats — want attention on their terms.
Siamese have an independent spirit coupled with curiosity and intelligence, so if they’re not given owner-approved diversions, they’ll likely find unauthorized distractions on their own. Additionally, Siamese have a large vocalization repertoire that their owners are fluent in.

Bearing all this in mind, Dylan the Siamese is looking for a home.
From the way Dylan readily comes up to visitors for a head rub, it’s clear he once had a human family.
Yet hard times must have struck, because before he came to the SLO County Animal Services shelter, Dylan made his living dumpster-diving behind a local restaurant.
Dylan is a large, 4-year-old boy who leans in appreciatively when being petted and — being a clear communicator — gives an expressive rumble when it’s time to change to another activity. Strikingly handsome, whether lounging or playing, Dylan will add elegance and beauty to any home. Not a Siamese person? Come to the cat adopt-a-pet on the SLO County Animal Services shelter front lawn from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday or add your name to the kitten wish list by calling 781-4413 or emailing Erika at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Attention all Siamese lovers: Dylan needs you.
