‘Out on his own, Sherbert didn’t have much of a chance for survival. When he arrived at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services shelter he was in sorry shape — underweight, open wounds on his legs and an abscess on his head. Life can be tough even for a friendly cat.
“Thankfully Animal Services Shelter staff, with the help of the ARF Fund, were able to give Sherbert the medical care he needed.
“Sherbert’s a big orange tabby who’s battered appearance caused adopters to look the other way. Now his wounds are healed and his coat is growing out. All this outgoing and playful cat needs is an adopter who can see his potential and help him rediscover the joys of being a cat.
“Since Sherbert’s one of our longest-residing felines, and has cleared so many hurdles, he’s been chosen as one of the Volunteer Picks of the Month. This distinction means Sherbert is a special boy and his adoption fee is half off.

“We’ll never know Sherbert’s whole story. But there’s always the wish for a happily-ever-after with Sherbert being a loved cat once more.”
