Dog Splash Days at Templeton Community Park will be Sept. 7 to 9. Doggie swim times will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 for little or senior dogs, 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 7 for all dogs and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 for all dogs. Admission is $15 per dog until Tuesday and $20 after Tuesday through the event day.

The admission fee includes a raffle ticket for doggy and people delights. Proceeds benefit Vineyard Dog Park in Templeton. Owners must bring paper proof of current rabies vaccination.

The Creston Classic Rodeo will be Sept. 14 to 16 in downtown Creston.

Activities include jackpot team roping, rodeo queen contest, team bronco riding, a rodeo barn dance at the Loading Chute, Cowboy Church, mutton bustin’ and other rodeo events.

“Behind Closed Gates” North County Barn Tour will feature tours of Vulcan Mesa Ranch, Templeton Farms, Windfall Farms and the Estrella Equine Hospital from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29.

The tour starts at Vulcan Mesa Ranch, 4500 Rocky Canyon Road, Atascadero. Snacks, refreshment and coffee will be served, and maps and directions to the other barns on the tour will be provided.

The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo. Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet exam is included.
