Cambria's Healing Center to host Pet Day

Miller’s Equestrian Center and Sanctuary presents Miller’s Wine Event from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at San Luis ObiSpa. Event includes Saucelito Canyon and Per Bacco Cellars wines paired with appetizers, silent auction, photo booth and live music by Jeff Bright. The Five Cities Dog Park Association and the Arroyo Grande Parks and Recreation Department are holding a Puttin’ on the Dog event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elm Street Park in Arroyo Grande. There will be doggie contests, a doggie/owner parade, demonstrations, adoption opportunities, raffle, food and pet paraphernalia vendors, dog licensing, barbecue and more. Adventures with Gentle Horses children’s summer camps will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Heaven Can Wait Equine Sanctuary. Children ages 4 to 12 will learn equine manners, safety and grooming. They can read to and walk the horses, create an art project, and observe or participate in a round pen event. Heaven Can Wait is at 6275 Cerros Pioneros in San Miguel. Cost is $25 per child; for families, $15 for the first child, $10 for the second.

Dogs and their owners are invited to beat the summer heat at a series of “Yappy Hour” events at Vineyard Dog Park.

Dog park board members will serve refreshments and light appetizers from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays during August. Social dogs off leash are invited. Donations are appreciated. Vineyard Dog Park is at 1010 Semillion Lane in Templeton.

The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at the Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo.

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. The adoption fee if $60 for one or $80 for two.

A free vet exam is included.
