H.A.R.T raises funds for homeless animals

Cambria’s Homeless Animal Rescue Team hosts Heart Impressions from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event is an interactive fundraiser and sale to benefit H.A.R.T.’s many animal care and rescue programs.

Ceramic artist Carol Jean Attoe will be on hand to capture pets’ paw prints in fine art ceramic clay keepsakes.

At noon, author and animal communicator Suzan Vaughn will give a free presentation, followed by audience questions. She will then be available for private readings with animals and their owners.

The Feline Network has cats and kittens available for adoption from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at PETCO in the Madonna Plaza Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo.

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated prior to adoption. The adoption fee is $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet examination is included.

A flag dedication ceremony and artist reception will be held at Vineyard Dog Park at 9:30 a.m.

Aug. 21. The Templeton chapter of the American Legion will conduct a flag-raising ceremony to honor the new flagpole that was donated to the park.

The event will also include the unveiling of the new park mural painted by the winner of the Vineyard Dog Park Student Art Competition, Templeton High School student Luke Taylor. Advanced sign-ups are also available at this event for Dog Splash Days, Sept. 10 to 12. Coffee and pastries will be served, and dogs are welcome.

Woods Humane Society will host a Viva Paws Vegas Feline Adopt-a-thon from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 21.

All cat and kitten adoption fees will be $21. Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips, cat carrier and entry into a raffle.

Heaven Can Wait Equine Rescue and Sanctuary presents a tribute concert featuring Neil “Faux” Diamond at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21. Evening includes live music, dancing, wine tasting and dessert pairings.

Bring a blanket and/or lawn chair. Donations are $25 per person before the event or $30 at the gate.
