Peachy Canyon will have another winery and tasting room if a proposal by a local vintner successfully works its way through the county’s planning process.
Don Law of Law Family Vineyards is seeking a conditional use permit that would allow him to move forward with a 36,000-square-foot wine production facility and tasting room at 3875 Peachy Canyon Road.
According to a staff report to the San Luis Obispo County Planning Commission, the facility will encompass “every aspect of winemaking,” including harvest, crushing, fermentation, barrel aging, blending, bottling, case storage and retail sales.
On buildout, the operation will produce as many as 10,000 cases annually.

Water will come from an onsite well.
Initial production, according to the report, will come from grapes grown in the family vineyard across the road from the new facility.
Law has proposed no special events, “other than industrywide events.”
The land has been used for limited grazing and dry farming.
The Planning Commission is scheduled to discuss the proposal Thursday at its regular meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. at the County Government Center, 1055 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo.
