Pope Francis was offered local Chardonnay from Kenneth Volk Vineyards during his flight from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to New York City last Thursday.
Time magazine correspondent Elizabeth Dias tweeted a picture of the in-flight menu during the Pope’s flight, which included Kenneth Volk Chardonnay, Santa Maria Cuvée, at the top of the white wine options offered.
Owner Kenneth Volk said their Chardonnay is in service with American Airlines for international first class and business flights. American Airlines determined the selection of wines that would be available to the pope during his domestic flight, said Barbara Smith, marketing director for Kenneth Volk Winery.
