The plan was to have clients of Home Instead Senior Care in Pismo Beach have head-to-toe makeovers, proof that seniors could benefit from the personal improvements so inspiring to younger women. For various reasons, the clients couldn't make it, so caregivers Pauline Grossini and Pauline Gable stepped into the roles.
"I was very flattered to be pampered because that's what we do for other people as caregivers," said Grossini.
The makeover began with shopping at Ross, choosing flattering, youthful outfits that included shoes, purses and jewelry.
A week later, equipped with new clothes, the women stepped into the Institute of Beauty Culture in Pismo Beach for hair and makeup.

When the makeovers were finished, Grossini said they both felt younger and excited to show themselves off.
"I felt like going out and getting a date!" said Grossini. "I was going to ask the TV people to put my phone number under my picture."
