“Home Improvement” star Tim Allen is coming to the Central Coast this fall.

Allen will bring his standup comedy act to Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez on Sept. 29. He’s the latest in a series of high-profile comedians to take the Samala Showroom stage in recent years, including Bob Newhart and Jerry Seinfeld; comedy duo Cheech and Chong performed there in May.

Allen is best known as his role as Tim “The Toolman” Taylor on ABC’s “Home Improvement,” as well as starring in “The Santa Clause” movies and the “Toy Story” franchise.

Most recently, he starred in the sitcom “Last Man Standing,” which ABC canceled in May in a controversial move. Although more than 400,000 people have signed a Change.org petition calling for the network to renew the sitcom for a seventh season, ABC, NBC and CMT have all passed on picking up the show.

Tickets for Allen’s 21-and-older comedy show cost $65 to $85. For information, call 805-686-3805 or visit www.chumashcasino.com/entertainment.
