Legendary singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will perform in Paso Robles this summer.
Browne will perform Aug. 8 in Vina Robles Amphitheatre as part of his summer tour supporting his 2014 album “Standing In the Breach.” He joins an entertainment lineup that includes blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa, jazz rock duo Steely Dan and Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra.
Known for his introspective lyrics, laid-back folk-rock sound and dedication to political and environmental activism, Browne built his reputation as a consummate Southern California songwriter in the early 1970s. His hits include “Doctor My Eyes,” “The Pretender,” “Running on Empty” and “Somebody’s Baby.”
Browne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2007. He holds an honorary doctorate in music from the Occidental College in Los Angeles.
Tickets for the Aug. 8 concert cost $51 to $91 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.
