Funk pioneer George Clinton will perform later this month at Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez.
Clinton and his band Parliament Funkadelic will perform Aug. 27 at the casino’s Samala Showroom.
The mastermind behind Funkadelic and Parliament, Clinton revolutionized music in the 1970s and early ’80s by bringing together elements of psychedelic rock, soul and rhythm and blues in extravagant, science fiction-inspired stage shows.
The influential band leader, music producer and singer-songwriter, whose hits include “One Nation Under Groove” and “Give Up the Funk,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 along with other members of the Parliament-Funkadelic collective.
Tickets for the 18-and-older concert are $35.
