“American Idol” standout Adam Lambert, Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd and soft-rock songsmith Christopher Cross are among the final main stage acts announced for this year’s California Mid-State Fair.
Also slated to perform at the Chumash Grandstand Arena are country acts Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts, bluesy singer-songwriter John Mayer, hard-rock band Huey Lewis and the News, and alternative rock bands Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls.
Known for his powerful voice, high-energy performances and theatrical style, Lambert — who performs July 19 — found fame after becoming the runner-up on the eighth season of “American Idol” in 2009. The Grammy Award nominee’s hit songs include “Better Than I Know Myself,” “If I Had You” and “Whataya Want From Me.”
Cross, best known for the Grammy-winning song “Sailing,” is performing July 20 as part of Sail Rock 2013. The showcase also features pop-rock stars Al Stewart (“Year of the Cat”), Firefall (“You Are the Woman”), Orleans (“Still the One”) and Player (“Baby Come Back”).
