The California Mid-State Fair is hosting a competition to determine its 2016 fair theme.

The theme helps fair officials create new programs, competitions and exhibits, a fair news release said.

“Building upon our success of previous years, we would like to embark on a journey with our mascot, Paso Pete, and his trusty sidekick, Sierra,” said Fair CEO Vivian Robertson. “Pete and Sierra need your help in helping them select where they should venture this coming summer.”

The deadline for entries is Nov. 9, and participants can submit as many entries as they like. Entries are being accepted online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CMSF16Theme or can be mailed to the fair office at P.O. Box 8, Paso Robles, CA 93447.

The winner will receive two season passes for the 2016 fair. For more information, go to www.midstatefair.com or call 805-239-0655.
