Riley Shannon, a sophomore at Cal Poly, was named queen of the 2015 California Mid-State Fair on Tuesday night.
The annual Miss California Mid-State Fair pageant is held the night before the fair opens.
Eleven young women competed for the crown this year.
Shannon, 18, belongs to Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution, Collegiate FFA of Cal Poly, the Cal Poly swim club team and Philanthropy committee. Her platform was titled "Bushels of FUn - Agriculture Education for Children Affected by Domestic Violence."

The first runner up was Kaitlin Heely, a 22-year-old Paso Robles graduate who attends Fresno State University. Second runner up was Karina Medrano, an 18-year-old sophomore at Cuesta College.
Other pageant participants were Rachel Andrade, Laura Henderson, Rebecca Mason, Rebecca McCaughan, Hailey McLean, Anna Stenger, Claire Stenger and Judy Thach.
