More cluck for their truck: Fair turkeys just wanna gobble

You’ve heard of monster truck shows at the fair, but here’s a fowl twist on that theme. In this case, the turkeys chasing the truck look like monsters. Of course, they’re not. The truck is a miniature vehicle carrying food ... which explains why the turkeys are chasing it. The action is part of the Wild West Turkey Stampede, a new attraction at this year’s California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles.

According to the fair’s website, “teams of turkeys race around the track in pursuit of Big Red, a remote-controlled mini truck with a few tricks up his fenders. The whole family will enjoy this fun, engaging and educational experience and will walk away with new appreciation for turkeys.”

The turkeys stampede daily at 3, 5 and 7 p.m. during the fair at Rancho Frontier.
