More than 150 ballroom dancers from Arizona, California and Nevada will show off their best moves Feb. 28 in San Luis Obispo.
The Cal Poly Ballroom Dance Club will host its eighth annual Mustang Ball Ballroom and Latin DanceSport Competition on campus at Chumash Auditorium, according to a news release.
The Mustang Ball will feature dancers competing in international and American-style ballroom dancing at six different levels. Other highlights include nightclub dances such as the Argentine tango, hustle, salsa and lindy hop swing, and a dance showcase featuring champion ballroom dancers Iaroslav Bieliei and Olga Tsikalyuk.
Last year’s competition attracted more than 500 spectators and 262 competitors from Cal Poly and other universities.
The Mustang Ball will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 28. Admission is $7 in advance, or $10 at the door, and Cal Poly students with valid IDs get in free.
