Adam West, aka Batman, to appear at SLO film festival

Evildoers, beware! The Caped Crusader is coming to the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

Batman” star Adam West is slated to appear on the festival’s opening night, March 5, at the Fremont Theatre in San Luis Obispo, festival Artistic Director Wendy Eidson announced in a recent news release.

After a screening of the new documentary “Starring Adam West,” directed by James E. Tooley, West will participate in a question-and-answer session and receive the festival’s Spotlight Award.

Best known for his role as the Dark Knight in the 1960s television series and 1966 movie “Batman,” West is a prolific television, movie and theater actor who has lent his voice to a multitude of animated shows, including “The Animaniacs,” “The Fairly OddParents” and “The Simpsons.” On the popular Fox animated show “Family Guy,” West plays a fictionalized version of himself, Mayor Adam West.

Most recently, the actor hosted the Reelz Channel reality show “FanAddicts!”

Tickets to the March 5 event are $15, or $10 for students and film festival society members.
