Captain Kirk is coming to San Luis Obispo.
Canadian actor William Shatner will bring his one-man show, “Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It,” to the Cohan Center on Jan. 19. The 100-minute production spans his career as an actor, director, producer and Priceline.com spokesman.
Best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk on the seminal science-fiction show “Star Trek” and seven franchise films, Shatner played the title role in TV’s “T.J. Hooker” and hosted “Rescue 911,” considered television’s first reality-based series.
Shatner won a Golden Globe Award and two Emmy Awards for his portrayal of arrogant, womanizing attorney Denny Crane on “The Practice” and “Boston Legal.” More recently, the 81-year-old actor hosted an interview show, “Shatner’s Raw Nerve,” and appeared in the brief-lived sitcom “$#*! My Dad Says.”
